An Overview of FLEPS

The Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School (FLEPS) at BAU Cyprus University is a dynamic and integral part of the university’s academic structure, designed to cater to the diverse language learning needs of its students. Comprising two main divisions, the English Preparatory Division (EPS) and the Foreign Languages Division (FLD), FLEPS offers a comprehensive approach to language education. The EPS Division focuses on elevating students’ English proficiency to a CEFR B2 level, providing intensive English language courses across two levels (A1-A2 and B1-B1+) to prepare students for their undergraduate or graduate studies. This program emphasizes academic English and utilizes a skill-based teaching methodology. Meanwhile, the FLD Division enriches students’ academic journey by offering University Compulsory and General Elective courses in Academic English, Turkish, German, French, and Greek, along with specialized courses such as Report Writing and Presentation Skills, History of Civilization, and Thesis Writing. FLEPS stands as a testament to BAU Cyprus University’s commitment to fostering multilingual competence and cultural understanding among its students, equipping them with the necessary language skills and knowledge to thrive in a globalized academic and professional environment.
