The First National A-Z ELT Conference commenced with a pivotal pre-conference event at Bahcesehir Cyprus University (BAU Cyprus) today. This gathering brought together distinguished scholars, principals, directors, deans, and the Ministry of National Education Director of Education and Discipline Department to discuss the pressing challenges and promising opportunities within the multilingual and multicultural educational landscape of North Cyprus.
During this three-hour session, attendees engaged in meaningful dialogue, recognizing both the complexities and potential for fostering an inclusive educational environment. Despite the challenges identified, the collective consensus was that with strategic efforts and collaborative initiatives, it is possible to create a supportive and inclusive educational framework for both national and international students across K12 and higher education institutions in the country.
“We are thrilled to host such a significant event that underscores the importance of inclusive education in our diverse context,” said Eda Aşılmaz, Director of Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School at BAU Cyprus. “The discussions today laid a strong foundation for the innovative strategies and collaborative efforts needed to address our unique educational challenges.”
